12 Welding Robots Installed

Twelve welding robots bring repeatable weld quality to our fabrication lines — and laid the groundwork for the DIN 1090-2 and ISO 3834-2 accreditations that followed.

Swati Industries has installed twelve welding robots across its fabrication operations — a significant step in automating our fabrication lines, and the foundation for the welding accreditations that followed it.

What changes with robotic welding

Manual welding is only ever as consistent as the day the welder is having. A robot holds the same torch angle, travel speed and heat input on the first part of a batch and on the five-hundredth. For scaffolding components — ledgers, standards, frames, staircase towers — that consistency is structural. The weld is the joint the load passes through.

  • Repeatable penetration and bead geometry across long production runs
  • Weld quality independent of operator fatigue and shift changes
  • Documented, repeatable welding parameters that can be audited and reproduced
  • Higher sustained throughput on fabrication-heavy lines

From capability to certification

The robots were not an end in themselves. A controlled, documented welding process is a precondition for the European structural-steel standards — and in 2024, the year after installation, Swati Industries was accredited to DIN 1090-2 and ISO 3834-2, the standards governing execution of steel structures and quality requirements for fusion welding.

That sequence is deliberate. We build the capability first and certify only what we can genuinely demonstrate. It is the same path that took us from our first ISO 9001 accreditation in 2000 to IATF 16949 in 2020, ISO 14001 in 2024, and VCA – E57 in 2025.

The welding cells operate alongside our press, forging and machining lines across six plants in Ludhiana and Doraha, backed by a vertical-machining-centre tool room and a CAD/CAM development section.
